School-Based Opportunities
JA in a Day - Volunteers teach the JA curriculum over the course of a day! Utilizing JA's user-friendly materials designed for students in grades K-8, volunteers support early awareness and understanding of finances, careers, and business.
Typical Duration: 9:00am - 3:00pm
Career Speaker Series - Volunteers visit middle school and high school classrooms to share their career journey while answering student’s finance- and job-related questions.
Typical Duration: flexible, during the school day
Site-Based Opportunities
JA Finance Park - Volunteers guide students through a budgeting simulation at our facility in Midtown Manhattan, helping them make choices about savings, debt management, interest rates, and credit.
Typical Duration: 8:30am - 2:00pm
JA Job Shadow - Students tour your company, learn about careers in your industry, and develop insights to guide their career planning.
Typical Duration: 10:00am - 2:00pm
Virtual Opportunity
JA Inspire - Employees volunteer at a virtual career expo where students explore exhibitor booths across various career clusters and connect with volunteers via live chat. This event is expected to attract 12,000 students and is perfect for remote volunteering groups.
