Junior Achievement of New York Welcomes Three New Members to its Board of Directors

New York, NY - August 26, 2024 - Junior Achievement of New York is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Rajai Gooden, Rashmi Singh, and Scott Garton. Their extensive professional experience and commitment to community service will further enhance JA New York’s mission to inspire and prepare young people for success in a global economy.

Rajai Gooden is a Managing Director at Accenture, specializing in the life sciences sector and managing the executive relationship with a global biopharma company. With 18 years of experience, he has led numerous transformations to boost organizational growth. Rajai is dedicated to serving the New York Metropolitan community and supporting individuals from underserved backgrounds. As a native New Yorker and a City College of New York graduate, he understands the challenges many students face in navigating life and seeking better opportunities.

Rashmi Singh is a Principal and the Metro New York Geographic Markets Leader for EY’s Financial Services practice. She has over 20 years of work experience in the Wealth and Asset management industry. Prior to EY, she was an executive at two large global wealth management firms. Rashmi has previously served on the Junior Board of Junior Achievement of New York. She is passionate about financial literacy, economic opportunity and equity and serving the New York area community, supporting students from underprivileged backgrounds and providing them the tools and opportunity for work readiness, entrepreneurship and economic parity. She has lived, studied and worked on four continents. Rashmi holds Master’s degrees from Columbia University in New York and Oxford University in England and lives in NYC.

Scott Garton is Regional Vice President of Operations at FedEx. He began his career at FedEx Ground as an operations coordinator trainee and advanced through the Operations department. By focusing on solid planning, continuous improvement, and flawless execution, he led his team to win East District of the Year in 2019 and 2020. In 2022, Scott became the regional vice president of FedEx Ground's Eastern region. He is a three-time recipient of the FedEx Five Star award and has also received the Purple Promise Chairman’s Award.
