The Manager of Grants and Sponsorships is responsible for meeting budget goals for funding by preparing grant and sponsorship proposals and stewardship reports, prospecting for new sources of corporate, foundation and government revenues, managing the grant and reporting calendar of 50+ funders and tracking all relevant grant and sponsorship related information. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple deliverables simultaneously and be adept at writing, editing and synthesizing information. The Manager reports to the Director of Institutional Giving.

The Manager of Grants and Sponsorships is responsible for meeting budget goals for funding by preparing grant and sponsorship proposals and stewardship reports, prospecting for new sources of corporate, foundation and government revenues, managing the grant and reporting calendar of 50+ funders and tracking all relevant grant and sponsorship related information.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple deliverables simultaneously and be adept at writing, editing and synthesizing information.

The Manager reports to the Director of Institutional Giving.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Working with the Director of Institutional Giving to support all efforts related to corporate, foundation and government partnership funding and stewardship;
• Prepare renewal funding requests to existing corporate and foundation partners and potential new funding prospects;
• Prepare impact reports for various funders and stakeholders;
• Identify, research and pitch new strategic partnerships for programmatic engagement, sponsorship and funding;
• Prospect, research, develop marketing materials, make pitches and coordinate site visits for prospective sponsors of programmatic events, including the JA Inspire Virtual and JA Finance Park programs
• Work collaboratively with communications and program staff to coordinate sponsor and partner visibility and content needs for programmatic sponsorships;
• Provide support for JA New York’s government affairs initiatives by gathering and coordinating data and preparing reports as needed for meetings with elected officials, government agencies and other potential public support opportunities;
• Support grant management in Blackbaud CRM and other data and tracking systems, including the grant calendar , deadlines and deliverables, donor file maintenance and tracking status of proposals and interactions with constituents;
• Conduct regular new funder prospecting, keeping up to date on emerging philanthropic, CSR and marketing trends, and reporting weekly on leads and follow-up;
• Staying current on the funding relationships of competitor organizations and other JA markets.

Qualifications (required)

• An undergraduate degree is required
• Two to three years of success in fundraising, grant-writing and/or stewardship (education and youth development field a plus)
• An intellectual curiosity about the work we do and the societal needs they address, as well as an interest in corporate and foundation philanthropy
• Strong writing and proofreading skills, and high attention to detail
• Excellent communication, collaboration and teamwork skills
• Commitment to accurate tracking, reporting on and meeting revenue targets
• Strong analytical and research skills and understanding of budgeting
• Knowledge/familiarity with Blackbaud CRM, MS Office, grant platforms and donor prospecting tools
• Email client tools such as Constant Contact, or similar

• Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19
• Must be able to work in a hybrid work setting

COMPENSATION:
• Range $55K-$65K commensurate with experience
• Excellent benefits package including medical, dental, and vision; 401k plan; and 6 weeks PTO
